These awards, totaling nearly $5 million annually, were allocated via the Primary Care Training and Enhancement 鈥 PA Rural Training in Behavioral Health (PCTE-PARB) program. This funding competition, administered for the first time in 2024, is an expansion of the broader Primary Care Training and Enhancement funding stream 鈥 the largest source of direct support for PA education under Title VII of the Public Health Service Act.

From July 1, 2024-June 30, 2029, PCTE-PARB grantees will leverage their awards to secure longitudinal clinical rotations for students with the aim of empowering graduates to expand access to both primary care and behavioral health services in underserved communities.
