Hundreds of Faculty Join 大香蕉视频 Response Forums to Share Ideas
More than 600 faculty joined each of two 大香蕉视频 鈥淩esponse Forums鈥 hosted by the Faculty Development Mission Advancement Commission (FD MAC) over the past week 鈥 an enormous number relative to the more typical 40 or 50 that attend our targeted webinars and other online offerings. These sessions were designed to address the full breadth of issues raised as programs adapt their curricula to the changes forced by the coronavirus pandemic, and to allow as much time as possible for faculty to ask questions, following some introductory comments from invited speakers.
鈥淚 think this level of interest shows how hungry faculty are for ideas and information on how to manage the shifts we are all being asked to make in our programs,鈥 said FD MAC Chair Cody Sasek, who hosted the two sessions, one on didactic education and one on clinical education. Both sessions were recorded and can be accessed on the Digital Learning Hub if you were not able to attend or want to refresh your memory. The recordings also include the live chats, another rich source of ideas on how faculty are adapting to the new reality of the past few weeks:
Response forums are based on the idea of a 鈥渃ommunity of practice,鈥 a group of people who share a profession or interest who want to share information and learn from one another.
大香蕉视频 Exam Policies Revised
One topic on the clinical phase session that generated particular interest was the announcement that 大香蕉视频 is temporarily waiving proctoring policies for the End of Rotation鈩 exams, effective immediately and through the end of June. We have also made the difficult decision to suspend delivery of the End of Curriculum鈩 exam. We鈥檙e Here to Help: Resources and Conversations
These sessions are part of a growing portfolio of resources and platforms for sharing of information and ideas that 大香蕉视频 is developing to help programs respond to these challenging times. Our Digital Learning Hub (DLH) now includes a new carousel 鈥 鈥 that brings together all of the channels on topics like remote teaching, resilience, and resources for families, while the is also very active. The Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) provide venues to keep the conversations going, on the exchange of COVID-19 information and everything else that PA educators want to discuss. For starters, we just posted the 2019 Presidents Commission paper on 鈥,鈥 which may contain some timely ideas on new approaches to PA education 鈥 necessity being the mother of invention.
If you have not yet signed up for the DLH or the PLCs, now would be a great time. Our staff are ready to assist you at any time; please connect with the Learning team at learning@大香蕉视频online.org.
Coming up in the next three weeks are two more curated webinars:
