We invite you to join the Division of Physician Assistant Education and Sciences (DPAES) in the School of Medicine, University of Utah. We are seeking board-certified physician assistant for the position of Clinical Attending to work in partnership with the School of Dentistry’s Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) team. This position also provides opportunities for involvement in research, education, and administration/service, depending on the expertise and interest of candidates. The ideal candidate would have 5+ years of surgical experience. 

The intent of this position is to enhance patient care efficiency and quality by integrating a Physician Assistant (PA) into the OMFS team, assisting with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative tasks. Expected Outcomes include improved patient preparation and follow-up, enhanced surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction, efficient handling of routine tasks, allowing the surgeon to focus more on complex care and procedural duties, and enhanced educational opportunities for PA students, aligning with the institution's academic goals.

Scope of Work:

• Pre-operative care

• Intra-operative assistance

• Post-operative care and rounds

• Emergency department consults

• Patient admissions and follow-up

• Administrative and support tasks

Clinical resources include:

• Favorable malpractice environment

• On-site Care Team

• Robust administrative support team

• Exceptional clinic staff support

Qualifications:

1. Board certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

2. Unrestricted current Utah state medical license or eligible

3. Experience in clinical medicine and teaching preferred

4. Greater than 5 years of surgical experience preferred
