Physician Assistant Studies 12-month Assistant Professor
The  welcomes applications for a 12-month, tenure track, full-time faculty position at the rank of assistant professor. The program seeks a PA-trained individual with at least 3 years of recent full-time clinical practice experience to join a group of PA educators who have a track record of teaching, scholarship, and service both at the local, regional, and national level, including with the Missouri Academy of PAs, AAPA, 大香蕉视频, and NCCPA. The MSU PA program has a proven record of success as demonstrated in 2021 by the ARC-PA granting the program with Accreditation-Continue status. The next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA in March 2031.
Missouri State University is the second largest public-supported university in Missouri and is in Springfieldâs vibrant downtown area. Springfield is on the western side of the Ozarks plateau, providing easy access to the Ozark Mountains in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. There are many lakes within driving distance to Springfield including Table Rock Lake, Bull Shoals Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, Stockton Lake, and Pomme de Terre Lake. The proximity to nature also affords some of the  in this part of the country. The Springfield metropolitan area has several highly rated public schools and several universities and has two level one trauma centers and many surrounding community-based healthcare institutions.
Required qualifications:
·        The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Assistant Professor are prescribed in the MSU Faculty Handbook.
·        The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
·        Physician assistant with current NCCPA certification
·        Master's degree, at minimum, in physician assistant studies
·        Three or more years of recent full-time clinical practice experience
·        Possess or be eligible for PA licensure in Missouri.
Responsibilities: This position will have job duties primarily as principal faculty:
·        student instruction in the classroom and skills lab
·        student assessment of skills includes history taking, physical examination, procedures, medical documentation, and ability to develop a comprehensive plan of care.
·        student advisement
·        service to the department, college, university, community, and profession
·        support for student research projects
·        scholarly activity such as professional peer review presentations, manuscript (clinical or non-clinical) peer-review publications, and collaborative research or grant activitiesÂ
·        one day a week clinical practice activity is encouraged, viewed favorably, and release time is provided
·        other duties as the need arises
