The University of New Haven seeks candidates for faculty positions within the Physician Associate program.
The University of New Haven, founded on the campus of Yale in 1920, is a private, coeducational university that has been recognized by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report for academic excellence. The department of Allied Health in the School of Health Sciences is seeking to hire three 12-month Non-Tenure Track Faculty for the Physician Associate Program. These positions will support all aspects of the program to include teaching didactic content, participating in the clinical year student experiences, participating in rigorous ongoing program assessment, maintaining adherence to ARC-PA standards, student advising and student support, and service on program, department and school committees.
These positions require a commitment to the program's mission and goals.
Mission - The mission of the University of New Haven Physician Associate Program is to prepare master's level physician associates to be highly skilled members of inter-professional healthcare teams. The program is committed to developing clinicians who will provide compassionate and patient-centered healthcare across the lifespan to people of all ethnicities, cultures, or identifiers that may be interpreted as different from the majority. The program places special emphasis on providing a strong primary care foundational knowledge that will train our students to be life-long learners and prepare them to enter a broad range of medical practice settings.
Goals -
- Develop competent person-centered providers who possess a solid foundation of medical knowledge and are prepared to enter the work force as a new graduate Physician Associate.
- Recruit a diverse pool of qualified candidates with a preference for service-focused individuals who will influence their communities.
- Foster a student-centered learning environment which supports both the educational and emotional needs of our students throughout their graduate education.
- Provide diverse learning experiences for our students to cultivate cultural sensitivity and the provision of equitable and compassionate healthcare.
- Develop providers with leadership skills, a focus on service and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Qualifying degrees/experience required for application for these positions include; completion of a master's level PA program with national certification through NCCPA, or an earned PhD with experience teaching in graduate level clinical health programs, or a MD with experience teaching in graduate level clinical health programs.
