Baylor University Physician Assistant Program

Description
Baylor University seeks to fill two principal faculty positions in the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. The successful candidate may be a physician assistant, a physician, or other qualified professional.
Responsibilities will include:
- Participate in the development, delivery, coordination, and assessment of curricular content and the assessment of student attainment of program competencies in accordance with best practices and accreditation standards.
- Assist in the establishment, refinement, and implementation of program policies and procedures consistent with ARC-PA accreditation standards including those necessary for ongoing programmatic assessment through goal determination, curriculum development, and outcomes assessment.
- Review student academic and professionalism progress of assigned student advisees and work with other principal faculty in the determination of corrective measures and/or remediation when requested.
- Engage in teaching, scholarship, and service that promotes Baylor Universityâs distinctive mission and positions the Program and the Robbins College as a thought leader in PA education.
- Participate in student recruiting, admissions, and retention along with all principal and adjunct faculty and staff as requested.
- Comply with all academic and regulatory policies including FERPA confidentiality of personal information provided by the students.

Qualifications
All Applicants must have:
- Minimum three years teaching experience within an institution of higher education.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, both within the program and across the college and university, is highly valued.
- Effective organizational habits.
- Clear communication skills, evidenced-based teaching methodologies, technology literacy, and the flexibility to perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications for Physician Assistant Applicants:
- Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA Program
- Masterâs degree required. Doctoral degree preferred.
- Current NCCPA certification and any state medical license
- Minimum five years clinical practice experience
Qualifications for Physician Applicants:
- Currently licensed Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medical (DO)
- Board certification and current state medical license.
- Prior experience working with PAs and knowledge of current and future practice standards and roles.
Qualifications for Non-PA/Physician Applicants:
- Terminal degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of work experience are required.
- Prior experience working with PAs and knowledge of current and future practice standards and roles.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience in an accredited physician assistant program. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
