Principal Faculty in Ottawa University PA Program

JOB SUMMARY
This is the principal faculty member of the PA Program responsible for teaching, advising, mentoring, and supporting learners. The qualified faculty provides high-quality and engaging instruction and academic mentoring and advising to learners. The principal faculty generates and delivers classroom learning experiences and clinical skills instruction within the essential medical and clinical science topics based on the individual's qualifications. Collaborate with the Director of the PA Program, Medical Director, and other principal faculty to manage the curriculum. The principal faculty will participate in the program's admissions process. Maintain awareness of the PA profession. Participate in service to the program and healthcare profession.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
TEACHING:
Teaching Load: Responsible for generating and delivering classroom learning experiences and clinical skills instruction within the basic medical and clinical science topics based on the individual's qualifications. Course assignments are to be determined in collaboration with the Director of the PA Program, School Dean, and individual faculty, according to unit and university requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
REQUIRED EDUCATION: (education based on essential job duties and requirements consistent with business necessity): PA must be NCCPA certified and eligible for a license in Kansas; MD, DO, or APRN must be eligible for a license in Kansas; Must possess a master's or doctorate to teach at the master's level.
EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: (experience based on requirements in role and are consistent with business necessity) One to three years as a clinician if applicable.
